Kim Kardashian was in attendance for qualifying at the Monaco Grand Prix on June 6, showing support for Lewis Hamilton as the Ferrari driver secured a front-running position for Sunday’s race at the iconic Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo.

The reality television star was joined by her sister, Khloe Kardashian, and was spotted in the Ferrari paddock wearing a team headset while watching Hamilton deliver one of his strongest qualifying performances of the 2026 Formula 1 season. The seven-time world champion ultimately claimed third on the grid.

Kardashian’s appearance added to growing speculation surrounding her relationship with Hamilton. Earlier this week, she shared a social media photo of the pair cycling along New York City’s Hudson River waterfront. The two were also seen together during Super Bowl 2026 festivities in Santa Clara, California, outside a hotel in Paris in February, and reportedly spent time together in Malibu ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

On track, Hamilton finished third in qualifying behind Mercedes rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who secured a stunning pole position, and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc qualified fourth.

Hamilton arrived in Monaco sitting fourth in the Formula 1 drivers’ standings with 72 points and had topped Friday’s second practice session. Despite his strong result in qualifying, he admitted Ferrari’s car felt noticeably different compared to practice.

He said, “Tough for us, I think we were looking so strong in practice, and we barely changed anything, but the car was drastically different once we got to qualifying for some reason, so we have to take a deep dive into that.”

The Briton also reflected on the unique challenge and privilege of racing through the streets of Monaco. “I gave it absolutely everything and was as close to the barriers as I could be. What a privilege it is to be here and be one of the 22 drivers in Formula 1 getting to do this still. I love every second of it.”

Hamilton will start Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix from the second row of the grid as he seeks his first victory of the 2026 season.

Lewis Hamilton shares blunt assessment of current F1 cars after qualification at Monaco

Although Hamilton emerged from qualifying with a strong result, the seven time world champion was critical of the current generation of Formula 1 cars when discussing their performance around Monaco’s historic street circuit.

Speaking after the session, Hamilton said the 2026 cars rank among his least favorite to drive in Monaco. He said, “I think probably one of my least favourites of all the generations I’ve driven around here. Just the super light downforce.”

The Brit added, “It really is like a step down of generation of car, grip-wise. Our pressures are super high. Even though we have a hundred points or so less downforce this year, we have much higher pressures. Back in the days, we used to run like 16 psi, and now we’re up at 28 or 26 or something crazy. Maybe here it’s like 24, so very high.”

Hamilton further noted and said, “Ultimate mechanical grip is not what it used to be. I remember when I was here in 2007, 2008, there was so much more grip. It was even more fun back then. But it wasn’t terrible (today). I still had fun, but comparing all the generations, maybe 2020 was probably the best period for us, grip-wise.”

Hamilton’s third place qualifying result puts him behind Antonelli and Verstappen for Sunday’s race, with teammate Leclerc lining up alongside him in fourth.
