The Baltimore Ravens are missing Lamar Jackson. Although Tyler Huntley has kept the quarterback seat warm for his teammate over the last couple of games, the Pro Bowler has yet to convince anyone he can deliver wins every week.
Huntley led the Ravens to a nail-biting win over the Atlanta Falcons but struggled big time against the Cleveland Browns last week. He went 19 of 31 for 165 yards and one touchdown. The Ravens lost 13-10.
Up next, they face another AFC North opponent. They host the Cincinnati Bengals at MT&T Bank Stadium. Huntly has head coach Jesse Minter’s confidence, but fans are growing restless about Jackson’s return.
At the start of Wednesday’s practice, NBC Sports and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Jackson absence at the training grounds. However, Minter later confirmed that the two-time MVP practiced at a limited capacity. Minter said via ESPN reporter Jamison Hensley:
Year, Lamar [Jackson] was able to get a little bit of limited work [in] today… That’s where that’s at. Again, it’s a day-by-day thing but he was able to get a little bit of work in and be involved in the preparation.

Jackson led the Ravens to a 3-1 start. In Week 4, he suffered an ankle injury that kept him out for the next two games. So far, he has thrown 68 completions (70.8%), 967 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He has rushed 19 times for 144 yards and scored one touchdown.
Will Lamar Jackson play in Week 7?
Minter noted that Jackson remains day-to-day. The Ravens play the Bengals on Sunday. So, Jackson still has a few days in his hands to return to game-day fitness.

If Jackson doesn’t meet the deadline, Huntley will likely start his third straight game for the Ravens. Star running back Derrick Henry has complete faith in his quarterback. Henry said via the Ravens official website:
What gives me the confidence? I mean, I am with him every day. I see him in practice. I see how he works, so it is not any different for us. We know ‘Snoop’ is going to go out there and do his thing.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is preparing his team for Jackson. However, he’s also wary of Huntley. He said via Mike Petraglia of Bengals media:
You do, but again, I think that they’ve got another quarterback there that they don’t have to change what they’re doing. [Tyler Huntley] has obviously had a lot of success for them. So yeah, you’re always going to mentally prepare yourself for Lamar Jackson to play and get ourselves ready for that.

Huntley, former Utah signal caller, became a Raven after going undrafted in 2020. He backed up Jackson until the 2023 season before joining the Browns. He briefly returned to Baltimore in 2024. He also suited up for the Miami Dolphins and the Browns for a second time before signing a two-year, $11 million extension with the Ravens ahead of the 2026 season.
In 18 starts (33 total appearances), Huntley has completed 410 passes for 3641 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He has also rushed for 6 touchdowns. Huntley is 8-10 in the regular season and 0-1 in the postseason.
What is Tyler Huntley’s record against the Bengals?
Huntley has played the Bengals four times in his career—three regular-season and one postseason appearance. Huntley is 2-1 in the regular season. He has posted a 60.1 passer rating with 47 yards.
Huntley started for the Ravens in the 2023 AFC Wild Card game against the Bengals. He went 17 of 29 (58.6%), for 226 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception (92.0 passer rating). The Ravens lost 24-17.
