Even though the NBA Finals are in session, the basketball world is keeping track of any updates on LeBron James and his future in the game.

He made it clear he wants to first enjoy the offseason with his family, and then decide whether he wants to play for the Los Angeles Lakers or whether he wants to play at all.

The franchise can bring him back, but they may not have the luxury of giving him another major max contract. They want to resign Austin Reaves, which will eat a significant chunk of their cap space.

However, many have made it clear that James’ performances this past season were enough proof for him to get another major deal. The caveat is that other than the Lakers, no other contender has that kind of cap space, unless they make significant roster changes.

The King has also ruled out the possibility of playing for a non-contender, as he does not want to toil away at this age. All of it points to a return to the Lakers, but may be at a discount.

Since there is time for that decision to happen, the father of three is busy enjoying his offseason. After several rounds of golf and spending time with his sons, the 41-year-old has embarked on a trip to Europe.

The four-time champion was captured in Capri, Italy, walking amidst a crowd of people waiting to get their hands on some gelato. The difference is that LeBron James was not waiting.

Rather, his security ushered him past the swathes of people, as he was busy diving into his cone. It seems as a global superstar, he did get preferential treatment at the counter.

Getting ice cream was a confirmation that his otherwise serious dedication to his conditioning is now off the table. After all, he is in his offseason, which means LeBron James can have a cheat diet or two.

The 22-time All-Star may be resting, but golf is not part of a rigorous routine. After sending custom golf shoes to LPGA World No. 1 Nelly Korda, the superstar himself could not avoid spending time with a club.

He posted a clip of himself on a yacht with a custom patch of grass. He laid a ball, positioned himself, and then gave it his customary powerful whack.

The ball went into the water, but the four-time league MVP kept his eyes peeled to see just how far he could manage to hit it. His drives have become quite the talking point on social media.

In his early days learning the game, his drives would become fodder for social media trolls. Nowadays, that has died down. Fans are aware of how James criticized his golf game, which ensured the trolling stopped, and the admiration towards his dedication to the craft came to the fore.

LeBron James is the ‘best ever,’ says Rich Paul

Whether LeBron James plays in his 24th season or not, he is always going to be a part of the GOAT debate alongside Michael Jordan, unless someone else comes into the fray.

Despite ‘His Airness’ pleas, the conversations will never stop, as fans and the media always want to anoint one as the all-time greatest. When Rich Paul and Max Kellerman got talking about it, the super agent said:

I think Michael’s the GOAT, and LeBron’s the best ever.

Rich Paul said on the Game Over Podcast

As soon as the Klutch Sports CEO said this, Kellerman agreed, stating that it cleared the conversation for good. Paul making it clear that Jordan is his GOAT might not sit well with James’ fans. But it seems this separation is necessary for the two legends to coexist in the same stratosphere.
