With most of the major moves done in this offseason, it is not a surprise that every other discussion is about LeBron James and his future.
The superstar is still taking his time analyzing every potential destination, as he wants to ensure that not only will he get back his ‘happiness’ playing basketball, but his next team can also help him win a championship.
With the race possibly down to four teams, the 41-year-old is busy communicating with the players, coaches and personnel. However, not many are happy with this development.
It is as if those naysayers believe that the ‘King’ is waiting to select which kingdom to rule over. That has brought forth some major criticisms, with a few harping on the claim that James has effectively ruined basketball by joining super teams.
People forget that Shaq left Penny, left Orlando, and went to LA… For people to say that it was chasing rings and LeBron left the original team that he was drafted, people forget that Grant Hill and T-Mac teamed up in Orlando. If not for Doc Rivers messing it up, Tim Duncan would have been there… They were literally doing a big 3 in 2003.
Richard Jefferson said
Richard Jefferson reiterated that critics and fans conveniently forget that such super teams were in play well before LeBron James made his infamous ‘decision.’
Richard Jefferson pointing out LeBron kept the all-time scoring title in LA and warning Lakers fans they're in for an "interesting five years" without him (per Road Trippin'):

The ESPN analyst was making it clear to actor Alfonso Ribeiro, who appeared on serial-James-hater Byron Scott‘s podcast to diss on the four-time champion, that he was wrong to label James as the one who ruined basketball.
DeMarcus Cousins slams Lakers for the treatment of LeBron James
After Richard Jefferson said what he felt should be talked about, his Road Trippin’ podcast guest DeMarcus Cousins chimed in with an opinion on LeBron James’ time with the Lakers.

I don’t like the way he was treated in LA… I grew up in the era of watching Bron like create the blueprint for the next guys coming up. So, I think he’s a legend in this game hands down… We kind of watching how the Lakers just kind of act like Bron ain’t LeBron.
DeMarcus Cousins said
The former center first addressed the fact that whoever speaks favorably of the four-time league MVP usually gets labeled as someone being paid by Klutch Sports.
DeMarcus Cousins on people discrediting the Bubble Championship:

“I had this discussion the other day, it’s just like, damn. You know what I’m saying? Like, when the average person goes to work, you know what I’m saying? You have a sick day, whatever bad day, whatever the case… pic.twitter.com/V5hcvgo72Q
He then went on to say that James has more than enough for the game and that he should be given the respect legends deserve. But he has seen great players being undermined recently, such as the Chris Paul debacle.
On that note, Cousins concluded his analogy by suggesting that LeBron James should join a team that would appreciate him no matter what.
DeMarcus Cousins slams those who discredit LeBron James and Lakers’ 2020 bubble title
After addressing the way Los Angeles and the Lakers treated LeBron James, DeMarcus Cousins then talked about the constant criticism of the 2020 bubble championship.
Y’all went to work during the pandemic, too. Those days still counted for you. So, they had to play a championship in the middle of a pandemic, and it doesn’t count for him. Like, so what’s the damn difference?… So to discredit him for that, it just doesn’t make sense.
DeMarcus Cousins said
The four-time All-Star acknowledged that his comparison may not be logically correct. But he stressed that if no one had control over the COVID-19 pandemic, why are the naysayers using it to discredit James and the Lakers?

Cousins pointed out that despite the situation, the father of three still went to work and led his team to a title. The base of it is still rooted in high-level basketball.
