LeBron James‘ impact is unparalleled. Drafted straight out of high school by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the number one pick, James was destined for greatness. No player in history had to shoulder the hype and expectations like he did when he entered the league in 2003.
James has completed 23 seasons in the NBA. He shocked the NBA world when he announced that he would be leaving the Los Angeles Lakers after eight years and would be signing with the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year deal.
On his recent appearance on The Herd, Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright made a bold claim about the King.
Until he retires, he is the face of professional basketball. When he retires he should become the logo of professional basketball… What he has given the league, no one will ever do it in multiple careers.

Nick Wright is one of the most loyal supporters of James in sports media. The NBA analyst has often regarded the King as the GOAT in the eternal debate.
James’ decision to join the 76ers did come off as a surprise to many. But with his addition, the 76ers are arguably the most dominant team on paper and are seen as strong contenders to win it all next year.
Considering he signed a two-year deal with the 76ers, James will be playing at least 25 seasons in the league. During the course of his career, he has rewritten statistics and has broken almost every record in the game.
While he is still the face of the league for nearly two decades, his sustained greatness puts him above the rest. Hence, Wright’s claim of James being the logo of the league after he hangs up his boots does warrant a debate in the future.
Fans rip Nick Wright for suggesting LeBron James should be the “logo” after retiring
There is no doubt that James still holds the keys to the NBA. Even the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver revealed that the league put the schedule on hold till he made a decision on his future.
Following Wright’s suggestion, NBA fans took to social media to react.
😂😂😂😂 Imagine skipping Michael Jordan as the next NBA logo. These two are the ultimate bronsexuals.

He hasn’t “Given” the league ANYTHING….

He has been overpaid his entire career.
Nobody was saying Kareem should be the logo, nobody was saying Magic should be the logo, nobody was saying Duncan should be the logo. Sooo why all of a sudden LeBron should be? 🤷🤦

Fans expressed their displeasure over having James as the logo, as it was never done for the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and other greats in the past. Wright’s take did not sit well with the fans
Nick Wright on LeBron James’ move to Philly
LeBron James will be playing his 24th and 25th seasons for the 76ers. The expectations surrounding the franchise since his arrival have been higher than ever. With a star-studded roster as they have at the moment, it is hard to bet against them heading into next season.

Wright reacted to James’ move to Philly by speaking on the 41-year-old’s love for the game.
I’m not saying LeBron James loves basketball more than anybody else. But I’m saying no one’s ever loved it more. I’m saying he absolutely just loves playing the game. He is going to play 25 years. He is going to honor this contract. He wanted to go East. He desperately wants to win another ring and his love for the game is unquestioned. Those are the three things this decision tells me about LeBron.

All eyes will be on James and the 76ers as they have the most national TV games scheduled for the upcoming campaign. He has won and achieved everything there is to in the league, but his love for the game keeps him going even after 23 years in the NBA.
