LeBron James Should Earn Joel Embiid’s Respect as 76er Teammate, Says Olden Polynice

Any time a player joins a new team, they have to quickly learn how to play alongside their new teammates. LeBron James is facing such a dilemma for the fourth time in his long and illustrious career.
After eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers, the 41-year-old decided that he needed one last change in his career before calling it quits. It was a tough decision, considering that he enjoyed a very comfortable situation in California.
Not only is his family deeply rooted in the community, but his business interests there have helped him become a billionaire. Therefore, to leave it all, even if it was for approximately two years, was a hard decision.
Arriving in a retooled team has its own set of difficulties. Thanks to his pre-existing relationship with a few players, James may not have that much of a problem building on-court chemistry with his new team. However, a certain former player believes that the four-time champion should not be the one calling the shots.
You ain’t my daddy; you my teammate, you know. You have to respect. Again, the man doesn’t walk on water. I will give you the respect, but that’s about it. You’re still not going to come in and just like dictate stuff.

This was Olden Polynice making it clear on Fast Break that this was always Joel Embiid’s team. Therefore, it is LeBron James who should be listening to the big man rather than dictating what he wants. He has to earn the respect of ‘the process’ before he can ask them to do what he wants.
76ers player details how LeBron James has taken over 76ers locker room
This is not the first time Olden Polynice or anyone from Fast Break has criticized LeBron James. Therefore, most people tend to rebuke what they say with proof.

The 61-year-old’s comments may not have reached the 76ers’ locker room, but when reporters asked 76ers forward Jabari Walker about the four-time league MVP’s leadership, he said:
He’s not talking just to talk. He is very direct, very meaningful, very impactful. He just commands the room… It’s been like five times already where I’m like, ‘Dang, that was brilliant. How come I never thought of that?’… He always has a solution for everything… If I don’t know something, I’m going to Bron.
Jabari Walker replied
The 24-year-old revealed that during 76ers film study, almost every player turned to LeBron James for solutions, especially if the coaches do not have one. This debunks what Olden Polynice said, as it is clear that the 76ers are looking to the longest-tenured player in the league for answers. That is all the respect he needs.
LeBron James warns teams of OKC Thunder
With the 2026-27 season approximately a week away, there is hope that LeBron James will use his experience and IQ to turn the Philadelphia 76ers into a championship contender. But the oldest player in the league is wary of the threat others pose.
I think it’s very important that we, as fans of the game and casuals, don’t write off OKC just yet.
LeBron James said
This was the superstar stating the obvious on Mind the Game podcast’s trailer: no one should count out the 2025 champions, even though they have lost some players. The Thunder play as a team, which is what it takes to win the title.

James has faced the Western Conference powerhouse on a few occasions and knows all too well how they play. Therefore, at a time when many teams have retooled their squad, the Thunder can pose a problem for anyone looking to win the championship this season.
