UFC legend calls ‘SCAM’ on World’s strongest man breaking Alex Pereira and Francis Ngannou’s punching record

Chael Sonnen isn’t impressed with the whole facade of punching power record machines. Recently, the former world’s strongest man Eddie Hall made headlines when he smashed the all-time record punching machine at the UFC PI. By doing this, Hall beat the likes of Alex Pereira and Francis Ngannou.

Chael Sonnen took to X and shared his view on the whole situation. Sonnen claimed that the whole punching machine records were a scam. According to Sonnen, the placement of the punch upon the censor reveals the power. However, he indicated it was not the true amount.

I thought the World knew this, but since there appears to still be a few out there who have yet to be “smartened,” I’ll fill you in... The whole thing is a scam. There is one sensor. The entire measurable count will be based upon where you hit in relation to the sensor.

Ahead of the historic UFC 300, Before the bout, Alex Pereira went to the UFC Performance Institute (P.I.) and tried his hand at the renowned punching machine. Francis Ngannou, the former heavyweight champion, set the record with a high score of 129,000 on the same machine. Surprisingly, Pereira’s attempt achieved a score of 191,796.

However, the Brazilian’s record didn’t stand long as ‘The Beast’ broke it by scoring an impressive 208,901. Moreover, the only difference between Hall and Pereira was the champion did it with a single hit. On the other hand, Hall took multiple attempts to get the humongous score. Fight fans often question the punching machines numbers and that’s exactly what Sonnen shared in his tweet.

Chael Sonnen is one of the most popular fighters in the history of the UFC. Other than his elite trash talk, ‘American Gangster’ is also known for his octagon battles. Recently at UFC 300, it was announced that Sonnen’s fight with Anderson Silva will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Sonnen talked about the achievement on his ESPN MMA show Good Guy/Bad Guy and went into the details of the fight. According to Sonnen, he doesn’t have a positive memory of the fight.

I gotta tell you, I’ve never felt good about a loss. Nothing’s changed in my life. Like, I didn’t wake up and all of a sudden they reversed the decision, or I wake up, and I got a rematch and I beat him. I got some praise, and I must tell you it feels very good to get a pat on the back. I mean, one of the worst moments.

The pair had fought twice and Sonnen lost on both occasions. The fight in focus was the encounter between both fighters at UFC 117, where Sonnen turned out to be a massive challenge for the Brazilian. However, in the end, Sonnen lost the fight via submission. Nevertheless, it gave fight fans some incredible moments between two opponents inside the octagon.
