LeSean McCoy is done giving injured players a pass after Jaxson Dart hobbled off the Giants’ Week 2 fixture at SoFi Stadium in the first quarter. Dart did not return.
The Giants entered Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams days after defeating the Dallas Cowboys. Quarterback Jaxson Dart played a key role in the win. A similar performance was expected from the second-year man.
However, Dart was ruled out just five plays later. The Giants lost. While Dart’s absence wasn’t the sole reason for the defeat, LeSean McCoy singled out the 23-year-old in his monologue on Speakeasy.
The former Philadelphia Eagles running back praised Dart for bringing spark to the Giants team, but he’s tired of seeing him get injured. He does not want to defend players like Dart who can’t stay healthy.
There haven’t been nothing to play for in New York for so long, and now we have the team we want and the quarterback we want…. [But] every time I look [at you] bro you are always hurt.

McCoy introduced Jayden Daniels into the conversation. Daniels hurt his elbow in Week 2 and is likely to miss the next few Washington fixtures.
Even though both Dart and Daniels picked up injuries, their situations are very different. Daniels missed 10 games after suffering elbow, knee, and hamstring injuries. Barring the possible MCL injury, Dart has only ever suffered a concussion while playing against the Bears in Week 10 last season. Sure, the Giants acted as if it was the end of the world every time Dart took a hit, but that’s how teams react when their franchise quarterback is involved.
Jameis Winston gives his two cents about Jaxson Dart’s injury
Dart’s injury paved the way for Jameis Winston to make his season debut. Winston had a decent preseason and signed an extension to stay in New York for the foreseeable future.

However, Winston struggled against the Rams’ pass rush, which played a big role in Dart’s injury. Winston went 11 of 27 passes for 111 yards and took two sacks. The Giants scored just 6 points in four quarters.
After the game, Winston told the media that Dart’s injury was unfortunate.
Anytime, you know, your quarterback goes down, obviously that’s a gut punch to the team right? So just rallying that… all of us just having a fresh week to prepare, and go out there and play our best football.

Winston played two games (Week 11 and 12) after Dart suffered the concussion last season. He went 0-2.
The Giants drafted Dart 25th overall. He started as Russell Wilson’s backup for three games before replacing him in Week four. He started 12 games and posted a 4-8 record. Dart threw 216 completions on 339 attempts for, 2272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He also rushed 86 times for 487 yards and scored 9 touchdowns.
The Giants play the Tennessee Titans next week. The Titans are 0-2 despite pushing the Philadelphia Eagles to their limits on Sunday.
The Chances of Dart missing the game are high. If so, Winston will start. The veteran signal caller is 0-2 against the AFC South franchise in his career. He has thrown 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
