- Marlon Humphrey questions the public's disdain for Donald Trump despite his electoral support.
- Social media backlash followed a controversy involving New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart and edge Abdul Carter.
- Humphrey's position on the Ravens roster may be at risk with rookie DB Chandler Rivers potentially taking his role.
Marlon Humphrey is asking the right questions. Recently, the Baltimore Ravens’ cornerback asked his followers to explain people’s disdain toward Donald Trump, even though those same people voted him into the presidency.
Humphrey asked after tension arose between New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart and edge Abdul Carter after Dart attended a Trump campaign in New York City. Carter’s reaction implied that he was surprised to see his quarterback sharing the same stage with such a polarizing figure.
Social media erupted with tweets from opposing factions writing mean tweets aimed at both second-year athletes. Even former and current players chimed in with their take on the situation. Following their lead, Humphrey asked a question that caught ample attention.
The fake Trump hate funny to me. Majority voted for him but everybody seem to hate him lol…Somebody lying.

Besides Humphrey, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase shared his opinion on the matter as well.
Can’t be mad when you already knew what you was walking into. 🤷🏽♂️

Regardless, Carter and Dart managed to sort their differences out in private, like grown men.
Is Marlon Humphrey’s place on the Ravens roster in jeopardy?
The trajectory of the Ravens’ season changed when rookie kicker Tyler Loop missed the field goal against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the final week of the 2025 regular season. Baltimore blew the chance to win the AFC North and missed the playoffs.

Soon after the season wrapped up, the Ravens parted ways with John Harbaugh and brought in his former protege, Jesse Minter, as their new head coach. Minter had previously served as the Ravens’ defensive coordinator before spending a year in the same role with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Humphrey is familiar with Minter’s playing style, but that doesn’t mean he’s place on the starting roster guaranteed. According to Benjamin Solak of ESPN, Minter could switch things up at the back by replacing Humphrey with rookie DB Chandler Rivers.
Rivers is exactly the sort of player who excels as a 10-year NFL slot corner. If he hits, he bumps Humphrey back outside, where the veteran was much stronger last season [61.5% coverage success rate relative to the 46.9% he posted inside].
Solak wrote

Then again, Solak highlighted that Rivers won’t exactly take Humphrey’s job.
So Rivers is not exactly taking Humphrey’s job — just the half of it that Humphrey isn’t as equipped to do anymore. Humphrey wouldn’t compete with [Chidobe] Awuzie on the outside but would instead immediately slide into that full-time role. His play at his age, however, is something to watch closely.
Chandler Rivers has an intriguing profile 👀
