“Mbappé wanted Ney to be sold is another big fake news”- PSG director claims Neymar was ‘never close to leaving PSG’
Luis Campos and Neymar jr
Luis Campos, Paris Saint-sporting advisor and de facto director since the beginning of the summer, said in an interview that a prospective transfer away from the French capital for Neymar was never on the table.
“Neymar was never close to leaving PSG. Rumours on Neymar this summer were completely fake – also, saying that Mbappé wanted Ney to be sold is another big fake news”.
When the rumors spread about the Brazilian international might have been sold this past summer, the Portuguese director responded that such a move was not an option. In addition, he has refuted Kylian Mbappé’s meddling, despite claims that the two were at odds earlier this year and that the Frenchman was trying to sell the team.
Neymar Jr plays a key role for PSG
As part of his Friday attack on rumours that Mbappe wanted the Brazilian to leave Paris, Campos referred to Chelsea‘s links to Neymar during the summer transfer window as “false news.”
“Neymar is a very good player,” he added.
“He arrives on time all the time, he hasn’t missed a training session, except one for a small injury. Neymar is involved in the team and club project.”
On PSG’s summer overall, Campos was damning and said: “It’s a serious problem for us.
“When we had only three central defenders and we started playing with three central defenders, it put us in difficulty. I’m not going to name names.
“In the end, we don’t have the player that we’re missing. If we’re missing a piece, the puzzle isn’t complete.”
