Mike Trout has still got it. On Thursday, the Los Angeles Angels superstar created history as he homered for a 5th time in the series against the New York Yankees. His performance against the Bronx Bombers left the fans on social media excited.

Trout, the 3-time American League MVP, has struggled with fitness in recent years. The outfielder has missed several games due to injuries.

Given the injuries he has had over the years, the one thing fans want is for him to stay healthy for a full season. Why? Well, when he is fit, he can slam the ball all over the yard without any problem.

In the 4-game series against the Yankees, the 34-year-old slugged 5 home runs. He homered in all 4 games as the American League West side earned a series split following an 11-4 win on Thursday at Yankee Stadium.

In the first game of the series, he went head-to-head with reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge. Both the stars hit 2 home runs in an epic 11-10 game, which saw the Yankees beat the visitors.

Trout then went yard in a 7-1 win on Tuesday and in a 5-4 loss on Wednesday. He thus became the first visiting player to hit home runs in 4 successive days at Yankee Stadium.

In 1972, John Mayberry Sr. hit home runs in 4 straight games at the Yankees. However, this series was over 3 days as it featured a doubleheader.

Trout also homered in his last game at Yankee Stadium in 2025. This means he is the only other player, apart from Judge (August 2024), to hit home runs in 5 consecutive games at this ballpark since it opened its gates in 2009.

Before this series, Trout had 2 home runs and 7 RBIs in 53 at-bats. He now has 7 home runs and 16 RBIs while batting with a .246/.416/.594 slash line.

The 11-time MLB All-Star has dealt with several injuries in the past few seasons. This has led to him missing a huge chunk of the season.

On the Opening Day this season, the 9-time Silver Slugger smashed his 5th Opening Day home run. He went 1-for-2 in that game with 3 walks and one stolen base. The Angels would thus start the new season with a 3-0 win over the Houston Astros.

Following the game, Trout was feeling confident about his own abilities.

I felt like myself again out there. Just being in center and stealing bags. It was a fun win. It’s huge.

Mike Trout said as per Rhett Bollinger

In the recent series against the Seattle Mariners, Trout was hit twice. In the final game of the series, he was caught on the left hand by a fastball, which left him in an immense pain. He would exit the game, leaving the fans concerned.

Fortunately, his X-ray came back negative and did not suffer a long-term injury. With his performance against the Yankees, he is projected to hit 60 home runs this year and cross the 50-homer mark for the first time in his career. It will be interesting to see if the Angels star could keep up this form for the whole season.
