Minecraft is an open-world and-box game where players can roam around and explore the wilderness of the world. In this article we take a look at the Minecraft parrot, who is a denizen of the deep forests.
Mobs are a big part of the game as they are everywhere throughout the world and players will definitely encounter them from time to time. There is only one bird that is part of the game as of yet, and they are Parrots!

Minecraft Parrots
Parrots are the only birds that are present in the game as of now and they are quite unique in their behaviour. They are a rarely found tameable mob that are only found in Jungle biomes.

Minecraft Parrots are passive mobs that can fly like the chicken and cannot breed. Players need to find them if they wish a pet Parrot. Players may also crowd around other mobs when alone.
Parrots may come in different colors as well.
Locations
Parrots spawn in Jungle biomes in groups of 1-2 and has a 0.2 chance of spawning, making them very rare. They will spawn on logs, leaves and grass.
Behaviour and Taming
Players can tame parrots using wheat seeds, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds or beetroot seeds. Players can then make them sit or stand and even carry them on their shoulder. The parrot will follow the player after tamed.
Parrots can also imitate sounds of nearby hostile or some neutral mob, so this can some in handy to alert the players. However, sometimes they may randomly make the sounds even without any mob nearby.
Parrots also dance when near a Jukebox which is playing music discs. They will even dance while on the player’s shoulder.
Drops
- Parrots drop 1-2 feathers when killed.
- They will also drop 1-3 EXP orbs.
Fun Fact: Parrots will die instant or get poisoned if players feed them cookies. This is because chocolate is poisonous to the parrots.
