Minecraft Vindicator: All you need to know!
Minecraft has a large number of enemy mobs that the players can encounter while they roam the vast fields of the world. Today we take a look at the Minecraft Vindicator and all its features so that players can always have the upper hand.
Minecraft illagers are the evil counter parts of the peaceful villagers and they have many variants. Apart from the normal pillagers, there are two especially dangerous variants namely:
- Vindicators
- Evokers
We take a look at the former, Minecraft Vindicator and look at all its features.
Minecraft Vindicator
The Vindicator is a illager which is equipped with a malicious axe and are stronger than normal pillagers.

Locations
Vindicators spawn in Woodland Mansion rooms in groups of 1-3. However, they can also spawn in corridors on rare occasions.
They can also be found in Pillager patrols but only on Hard difficulty.
In Raids they spawn frequently from waves 3 onwards. Vindicators can also spawn on top of a Ravager to form a Jockey.
Behaviour
They are hostile towards players, iron golems, villagers, baby villagers, snow golems and even wandering traders. They will attack these mobs on sight and will also attack other neutral mobs if they attack him first.
They will bring out a Iron Axe when they start attacking and deal the highest amount of raw damage out of any mobs in the game, standing at 19 health points of damage in a single hit. This is clearly a dangerous mob even for well-armored players. They will even disable shields when attacking.
They are very aggressive and may even attack a fellow pillager if their arrow hits them. However, this is only for Bedrock edition.
The Jhonny Vindicator
This is a Minecraft easter egg which transforms a Vindicator named Jhonny with a nametag, to be extremely hostile.
They will attack any mobs on sight except Evokers, Illusioners, Pillagers, Ravagers, Ghasts and other Vindicators.
Drops
The Minecraft Vindicator drops the following when killed by the player:
Java and Bedrock
- 0-1 Emeralds
- 8.5% chance to drop their axe or Enchanted Axe
Bedrock Version only
- Enchanted Books
- Iron Axe
- Iron Shovel
- Iron Sword
- Iron Pickaxe
- Iron Helmet
- Iron Chestplate
- Iron Leggings
- Iron Boots
