There was a time when Anthony Rendon was one of the best baseball hitters on the planet. His awesome performances during the 2019 season played a major part in Washington Nationals shocking the world. The underdogs would stun the Houston Astros to win the World Series. Following this he was awarded a lucrative contract by the Los Angeles Angels. Things have gone down since then.

His move to Anaheim has failed to give the desired impact. Plagued by constant injuries, he has spent the majority of his time on the injured list. This season has been the same as well he has not played since the fourth of July. There has been very little update regarding his return. So when a reporter tried to ask him about his status, his answer was a cold one, which caused a major uproar among fans.

Rendon did not start the season well as he made headlines for the wrong reasons on the first day. During his side’s loss to the Oakland Athletics on the opening day of the year, he was involved in a major altercation. He would exchange a few words with an A’s fan and even tried to swing at him. He has apologized for this action and even claimed that he had made it up with the fan.

The Angels star once again finds himself under the wrath of fans though. He was asked by one reporter if he had any schedule for return on the pitch. The 33-year-old has a history of dealing with media. This time he would pretend he does not understand English, despite the fact he is an American. “No habla ingles today,” he replied to a question regarding his status. He would later head down to the clubhouse after this statement.

Twitter reacts as Anthony Rendon gives strange answer to his injury status

The contract of Anthony Rendon has been one of the most talked about topics in the baseball world. Since making his move to the Los Angeles Angels, he has not managed to appear in 60 games in any of the four years. His combined home run tally in these four years at Anaheim club is less than he managed in a single season at the Washington Nationals.

The surprising statistic has been the money he makes. He is right now the fourth highest baseball in the world and will make around $38 million this year.
