“That dude has no f**king idea”: Marcus Semien’s humiliating yet humorous reaction after he forgets at-bat

Marcus Semien was all relaxed on the bench, chewing gum when he realized that it was his turn to bat. He seemed lost in his own world when the cameras caught his hilarious reaction after Nathaniel Lowe told him it was his turn.

Marcus Semien was himself embarrassed by his actions as he has been playing baseball his “whole life” and has never probably seen any player caught on camera as team-mates rush in to let him know it is his time to bat.

“I just lost track,” Marcus Semien told Bally Sports Southwest right after the game in the dressing room. “I think the lack of sleep caught up to me right there. I think the inning before was so quick that it just threw me off. I came back and I grabbed some water and just sat down for a second.”

“I saw that nothing was happening and then (Nathaniel Lowe) told me, ‘Hey, you’re up.’ I just laughed and ran up there but I was a lot more relaxed in that at-bat than in any other at-bat so maybe I need to do that more.” Added Marcus Semien.

The Texas Rangers won 8-7 against the Oakland Athletics, after forgetting his at-bat, Marcus Semien delivered a three-double game while Mark Mathias provided the Rangers with their ‘Ohh so deserving’ walk-off win. He finished the day 3-for-5 with four RBIs, two home runs and a double.

“I was just trying to be in the moment,” Mark Mathias said after he launched a 395 feet HR to give Texas a walk-off victory. “You go into the ninth, you get a shutout inning in the top of the ninth and you’re walking down the steps of the dugout,”

“It’s like, ‘I could end the game right here with one swing.’ And I never hit a walk-off home run before so it was pretty cool.”
