Will Matt Quatraro be the man for the Kansas City Royals? The team who have suffered their 6th consecutive doomed season. Some major changes are being introduced at the helm of the team for better performance and outcomes. The earlier manager Mike Matheny, had to face a rather strong sentimental opposition from inside the Royals team for after the put in abysmal performances for over half a decade.
The latest upsetting end of the season was a 65-97 finish which led to the replacement of front office executive Dayton Moore by J. J. Picollo. The new appointment acted more like chain reaction for the topple of both the incumbent executive and manager to overhaul the team’s performance.
Tampa Bay Rays on the other hand has been able to secure 5 straight seasons showcasing in the Al East. Matt Quatraro had been considered for Mets and the A’s manager jobs prior to this as well. Matt had a widely laid career with the role of assistant coach in 2017 where John Sherman was a minority coach and then returned to Rays.

The main reason for handing over the mane of the team to a new manager – Matt Quatraro, is the need for change in approach, as told by the team owner Sherman. The primary outlook now for the team would be an optimistic advanced approach through analysis and problem solving for a winning strategy.
“I do think the managerial position has changed,” Picollo said. “You talk to players around the league, executives — there are things teams are doing that are pretty advanced. Our goal is to find out what those things are and implement them here.” Seems like both the owner’s and the new manager’s plans for the team are in a much required sync which is certainly necessary if favorable outcomes have to be achieved in regards to the MLB.
“I’m grateful to Mr. Sherman and the ownership group, J.J. and the front office, and everyone else with the Royals for this opportunity,” Matt Quatraro said. “I can’t wait to get started, and for my family to get to Kansas City and be part of that community,” he added. Sherman made it clear that Matt Quatraro is widely respected and the team is rather thrilled to have him onboard.
