This week, Joe Rogan on his Podcast offered his opinion on Elon Musk’s contentious decision to permanently deactivate an account run by college student Jack Sweeney that recorded the movements of the multibillionaire’s private jet.

Twitter earlier this month disabled Sweeney’s accounts, including the @ElonJet account, after Musk voiced worries about potential safety hazards. Giving his opinion on Sweeney’s actions The UFC commentator said, “But is it a mistake for him because it’s getting him a lot of attention? People are paying attention to it. He might be able to monetize it. It’s weird though. It’s definitely weird and I would not like it at all. I don’t think it’s a nice thing to do.

Joe Rogan and his host also addressed the issue that this incident might promote more and more people to create such accounts to ask for money from Twitter. Commenting on their might be actually no end this Rogan said, “Where does it end? Like if that’s an industry now, tracking Elon’s jet?

Elon Musk has already declared that the platform will block any comparable accounts that divulge real-time locations. While the account’s creator has attacked Elon’s actions, claiming that they are stifling free speech.

Elon Musk finalized the $44 billion purchase of Twitter in October 2022, making him the new owner of the social media network. The Tesla CEO stated on Twitter that he wants to make the platform better and make it a friendly and inviting place for humanity after the successful closure. 

Joe Rogan also expressed his opinion on twitter’s takeover of his Podcast and believed that Elon will make the platform better. “That’s the best…What Elon wants to bring back to Twitter is reasonable exchange of ideas…But it’s just rare that someone is that wealthy that they can do that and he was very left-leaning for most of his life until really recently. The pandemic in particular and the way people have sort of enforced these ideologies regardless of whether or not the science supports it. He thinks it’s bad and I think it’s true,” said Rogan on his podcast.

But it seems things have gone south since the takeover. Almost immediately after Musk assumed control of the platform, a number of controversies and a sense of disarray emerged. Musk’s proposed modifications to Twitter have drawn criticisms that conspiracy theorists and trolls have used his appointment as a platform to promote divisive speech.
