Superbowl XVIII is right around the corner, and the Kansas City Chiefs might have something to worry about. The police arrested quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ father for driving with alcoholic influence. Currently, authorities hold Patrick Mahomes’ senior under a $10,000 bond. UFC legend Chael Sonnen came across the news and had words to say about it.
Sonnen has had run-ins with the law and thus has first-hand knowledge about the repercussions of such situations. Nonetheless, he tweeted his support for Mahomes Sr. This is what he tweeted.
My sense is he is a very genuine man. Let’s pull for him to get help over punishment. I get that there can be both, but I’d like to see grace.
This was not the first time that the police arrested Mahomes Sr. for a similar offense. Mahomes Sr. spent 40 days in jail when police arrested him for the second time. His present offense is his third, and that could land him a maximum of 10 years in prison, as a third-time offense is a third-degree felony. Mahomes Sr. always comes to support his son. Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL.
Superbowl XVIII is on February 11 in Las Vegas, and NFL fans are wary of the mental health of Patrick Mahomes due to his father’s arrest. Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Fransisco 49ers at Superbowl XVIII. The 49ers clinched the National Football Conference and had the second-best record in the 2023 NFL season behind the Baltimore Ravens.
Chael Sonnen bashes UFC 298 co-main event fighters
UFC legend Chael Sonnen is very active on social media, particularly on YouTube, where he has more than a million subscribers. In his recent YouTube video, Sonnen bashed Paulo Costa and Robert Whittaker, who will fight in the co-main event of UFC 298. Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria headline the PPV.
Sonnen was skeptical of the fight happening between Costa and Whittaker. One of the reasons for his apprehension is the lack of promotion for the fight. Sonnen stated that the fight was big, but the fighters were not discussing it. Nonetheless, Sonnen stated both are box office attractions, but the lack of build-up worried him.
Chael Sonnen also compared the Whittaker-Costa situation to that of Jon Jones and Anthony Johnson. Sonnen was certain that Jones and Johnson would not fight inside the octagon, and it happened just like he thought. Sonnen found vibes similar to those of Paulo Costa and Robert Whittaker. Moreover, Costa’s history of fight cancellations also made Sonnen wary.
