Scott Coker, President of Bellator MMA sat for an interview with Mike Bohn for MMA Junkie and spoke in length about the many future fights in Bellator, the last year Bellator statistics, Kayla Harrison, Dillon Danis and many others and when asked about having Jake Paul over at Bellator, Coker was more than happy to accommodate both the Paul brothers.

He said that he spoke to Logan Paul about three years back and said that if he was looking to take up a career in MMA, he could ‘let them know’. Coker had previously backed Jake Paul to take down Ben Askren and said that he never doubted Jake Paul’s potential.

I always said ‘look man, don’t underestimate these guys, and this was a year and a half ago.”

I always said ‘look these guys are real athletes, and they’re young, they work hard, they’re grinding it out, they’re putting in the work, you can’t take that away from them and they’re getting better and better and better’. What you saw with Woodley, you know that’s a lot of hard work to get to that point tonight. I’ve never seen Woodley get knocked out like that right.”

At least, unlike the UFC President Dana White, Scott Coker seems to be rooting for both Logan and Jake Paul and said, “I tell you, don’t underestimate these guys, because when they have made their mind up it just seems like that, they’re able to you know, fulfill their destiny.”

Scott Coker believes Jake Paul ‘is making all the right steps’

Scott Coker reiterated that if the Paul brothers are looking to make a career jump to the MMA, he would love to join hands with them.

“It’s something that I think that if they want to make it happen you know, we would love to do something with them and put them in some big fights.”

He was later asked about how he would matchmake Jake’s fights if he did decide to join the Bellator and he replied saying, “by the time he gets over to MMA and ready to fight, I think he’ll be ready to compete at a pretty high level.”

He even said that Jake would probably train in one of the best gyms on the planet where Khabib and Daniel Cormier are currently teaching.

He’ll be training with those guys down there, in the gym in San Jose that are just you know, these guys are killers all of them so, to me it’s you know, he’s making all the right steps and we’ll see what happens.”
