“Moreno won the last fight” – Joe Rogan dismisses Deiveson Figueiredo as flyweight champion on air during UFC 277
Joe Rogan disrespects Deiveson Figueiredo during UFC 277
Joe Rogan is very respectful of the fighters on the UFC roster irrespective of their position on the rankings. However, during the broadcast of UFC 277, a very rare sight of the UFC commentator disrespecting the flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo was seen.
UFC 277 streams live right now from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The card is headlined by two title fights, Julianna Pena vs Amanda Nunes 2 for the women’s bantamweight title and Brandon Moreno vs Kai Kara-France 2 for the interim flyweight title. The reigning champion of the 125-pound division, Deiveson Figueiredo has not fought since his title win since Moreno six months ago. Though the fighter has contemplated a move to the bantamweight division, in recent times, he has been very motivated to fight for the title unifier.
Joe Rogan, who has been broadcasting for the UFC for many years was seen disrespecting the reigning champ and dismissing his legitimacy as the champion. It is very rare that we get to see commentators dismiss a champion so quickly despite having proved so much in the division. According to his words, Joe hails Brandon Moreno as the real champ of the division.

Joe Rogan claims Moreno vs Kara France 2 is the real-world title fight
As Jon Anik, Rogan, and Daniel Cormier were making their introductions for the pay-per-view card and previewing each fight, Rogan made some controversial statements about Figgy and the flyweight division. “[UFC 277] is the real world title fight. I don’t think we’re ever going to see Deiveson Figueiredo down at 125 again,” said Rogan on air during the broadcast.
Deiveson recently explained that he is willing to fight the winner of Kai Kara France and Brandon Moreno 2 in his home country of Brazil. “I think those two gentlemen [Moreno and Figueiredo], there’s a real good argument that Moreno won that last fight as well. So that is, in my opinion, that’s the world title fight right there,” said Rogan on air.
It has only 7 months since Figueiredo fought proving that he is the real champion inside the octagon. The Brazilian was also injured during this time period and also had issues with his contract. To dismiss him as the flyweight champion, despite him agreeing to fight the winner of the UFC 277 title fight is really weird, to say the least, from a veteran like Joe Rogan.
