“We’ve had enough of this fu*king prick” – Fans lose their minds over Marc Marquez crashing into home hero Miguel Olivera in a horrible accident
MotoGP fans were in shock to see Marc Marquez collide with Miguel Olivera in what was a horrific crash.
Marc Marquez and Miguel Olivera
The season opening 2023 Portuguese MotoGP round was filled with drama and action. Marc Marquez and Miguel Olivera were the talk of the paddock but all for the wrong reasons. Following his pole position in Q2 yesterday, Marc was in a good position to fight for the race win going into Sunday’s race. However, the Spaniard’s lead didn’t last for long in Portimao.
He lost the lead during the start and that’s where the issues started to surface. The Honda rider struggled to keep up with the leaders and started to lag behind. However his move at turn 3 changed the whole course of the race for him and fellow rider Miguel Olivera. The Spaniard misjudged his braking which led to him getting into contact with Jorge Martin.
This further led to Marquez crashing into the back of Miguel Olivera sending both the riders into the gravel. While Marc was able to get up after falling off his bike, Olivera was not able to do so. The stewards summoned the Repsol Honda rider post race and have handed him a double long lap penalty for the Argentina.
Fans however aren’t pleased with the rider’s antics.

Fans react as Marc Marquez takes out home hero Miguel Olivera
The sad part about the whole thing is the fact that Portuguese rider Miguel Olivera was competing in his home race. He was on track to get a good result which was made impossible due to Marc. Aleix Espargaro has even gone on to state that he should get a race ban for this accident. The Honda rider will fly to Barcelona for checks as there is a suspected fracture on his right hand. Olivera escaped without any serious injury.
