Marc Marquez finally go to get his hands on Honda’s newest challenger for the 2023 MotoGP season. The Repsol Honda team was all geared up for the testing in Sepang. This was the first pre-season MotoGP testing in 2023. The purpose of the test was to understand the potential of the bike and the progress made during the winter break. This will further go onto helping the team and the rider enhance performance once the season starts.
The Spaniard spent his winter preparing for the upcoming season. Apart from his preparations, the work done back at the factory to develop the bike plays an important role. Honda has been suffering recently unable to challenge for the championship. With Marc Marquez being the team’s biggest asset, it was crucial for the manufacturer to have him back on the grid. The six time world champion for Honda is more than capable of delivering. The question is will he have the tools to win.
Once a dominant team, one of the most powerful manufacturers, Honda now has heavy competitions especially with the defending champions, Ducati. The challenge is to keep up with them. Marquez had excelled with this team previously winning six world titles. His goals remain the same, to win more. The Sepang test will reveal the bike’s performance and the Spaniard along with his teammate, Joan Mir, will take it from there.

Marc Marquez has been training religiously for the upcoming season
Ahead of testing, here is what Marc Marquez had to say.“We have had a good winter, I’ve been training a lot to be ready to begin the year in the best way possible. It will of course be nice to see the team again, but the most important thing is to see how Honda has been working over the winter and to start to understand where the bike is and where we are. I am looking forward to an interesting test and getting back on the bike,” he said.
Marc Marquez, one of the most influential riders in MotoGp suffered from several injuries last season. However, the track demon is back to compete for wins as his hunger has increased. He is in a good form physically and mentally so now the pressure is on the team. It all depends on Honda’s ability to provide him with a good bike. The team’s performance can be analysed once the season begins on 26th March.
