The veteran made a career for himself in NASCAR racing for the late legends Truck Series team Kyle Busch Motorsports. He admitted that he was crying after learning about the news and his hurt is pain over losing his mentor. The No:23 Toyota driver added that he can’t comprehend the fact that an icon he looked up to has died.

My eyes hurt from all the crying, my heart hurts from the pain. Just Sunday, mid race I thought about Kyle Busch and the one of many lessons that he had taught me. “Is it loose? Drive thru it and trust it” Kyle was a monumental factor in who Bubba Wallace is today. I sit here and look at all things around me and all the things I’ve been able to accomplish…Kyle played a role in every aspect. That’s what hurts the most. An icon and a legend that I looked up to…is no longer with us.

Myself along with many other drivers, crew chiefs, mechanics, etc… learned so much from Kyle. His legacy will continue to transcend in this sport for years to come. Honored to have shared the same race track with one of the best to ever do it. Thank you for all you’ve done for me. I will miss my drafting buddy on the plate races. Rest easy my brother. Love to you and your family!

In 2015, I used to call Kyle once a week for his help and guidance as I started going to racetracks for the first time. He gave me a hand when I was brand new to this. I am in complete shock. I am thinking of his family during this incredibly difficult time. Much love amigo…

Joe Gibbs Racing veteran driver Chase Briscoe also shared his thoughts on Busch passing. He admitted that getting opportunity to race with the legend was a dream come true moments for him and added that he would always miss the late racer on the track in the coming years.

Easily one of the absolute greatest of all time, any track, any car, it didn’t matter he was gonna be good. Getting to race against Kyle was a true pinch me moment, I’ll never forget the first time just sharing the track with someone I had so much respect for… I’m gonna miss everything about “KFB” and I can assure you no race I run from now on will ever feel the same because the impact Kyle Busch left is unlike one any other driver could ever have.
