Chase Elliott Insists Carson Hocevar “Really Deserved” to Win Talladega Cup Race
Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott has shared his thoughts on Chevy teammate Carson Hocevar securing maiden Cup win at Dega.

The NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday was special, as it witnessed the most promising youngster in the garage, Carson Hocevar securing his maiden win in the top division. He took advantage of the Talladega chaos and his aggressive racing style to beat RFK Racing Chris Buscher on the way victory lane.
2020 Cup Series champion Chase Elliott was really happy and excited about the youngster’s triumph. On his post-race interview, he pointed out that the No:77 Chevy team deserved to be in the victory lane as they have had some really close calls since debut. The veteran was also happy the driver from his OEM was the winner not Ford or Toyota.
Really happy for Carson. He’s done a great job. He’s really been deserving. He’s been really close a lot, too. So glad to see Team Chevy get across the line first. Certainly, happy for him. That’s a pretty special thing to win your first race. I’m sure it’ll be a hurt Monday morning for him, there’s no doubt.

Alex Bowman, the Hendrick Motorsports teammate of Chase Elliott, has similar feeling about Carson Hocevar’s win. He asserted that the Spire racer deserved to be in the victory lane and joked the fans of the driver might burn down the boulevard. He was also happy another Chevy driver was on the victory lane.
So glad to get a Chevrolet in victory lane there with the 77. Happy for him. He deserves it for sure. It’s a perfect place for him to get his first one. So, the boulevard, do they leave that open tonight? It might burn down with that going on.

Spire Motorsports officials explain Carson Hocevar’s character
The major factor that helps Hocevar stands out and make him the potential future superstar is his character. Spire owner Jeff Dickerson talking about it, pointed out that the youngster is the racer with the most irrational confidence he has ever seen and that gives an edge against the rivals.

This kid knows how to stand on the gas. He has probably the most irrational confidence of a driver I’ve ever seen.

Further talking about the point, the No:77 team crew chief Luke Lambert pointed out that his driver is someone that always been unapologetically himself and that makes him unique around other drivers. This is something that makes him likeable compared other driver that have him stature.
There’s no mold for Carson Hocevar. Nobody had a focus group to decide what a driver should look like and came up with Carson Hocevar. He is unapologetically himself. I’ve never met anybody that’s exactly like him.

The comments from the spire duo shows why Carson Hocevar is highly regarded by the fans as well as the community. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for him in the coming days, with momentum now being on his side.
