The 2024 NASCAR Cup season has been a year of disappointments for Kyle Busch and his No:8 Richard Childress team. They have come close to securing a few times, only to have a race ending incident. Every time they were not racing upfront, the team was fighting for survival in the back of the midfield with a slow car.
Kyle Busch missed out on the playoffs because of his winless streak and is now under threat of seeing the end of his most impressive racing record. He has won at least a race in the top-tier over the last two decades and this year, it seems nearing an end. His ex-JGR teammate Denny Hamlin sees a similar faith, but he still has hopes that the veteran can bounce back.
He doesn’t have any doubt on the driver and asserted that Busch criticises himself more at the moment than anyone in the community. Hamlin insist that it is the car under-delivering that is causing the painful results for the two times Cup series champion. They have to field much consistent cars to get the race win.
Denny Hamlin hasn’t seen anything promising from Kyle Busch in 2024
While previously talking about Kyle Busch on the same podcast, Denny Hamlin analyzed the racers 2024 season. He pointed out that the No:8 team hasn’t shown any signs of them being top contenders for race wins as other than occasional pace, there hasn’t been anything consistent from the Chevy crew.
The 2024 season isn’t yet over for Kyle Busch as there is six more races left in the season to win one. The team has to put all their eggs in the No:8 team basket and help the veteran to keep his streak alive, as it will help them thrive in 2024.
