The 2026 NASCAR Cup series season so far has been nothing but controversial for Carson Hocevar. He was involved in multiple high-profile incidents with his Cup rivals, with the drama involving Brad Keselowski being the most recent storm.

Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin has been very critical of the young racer over the incidents and in this weekend’s Actions Detrimental podcast revealed that he had a private conversation with the Spire Motorsports racer. They had a proper chat over the on-going drama.

It was fine. No, I didn’t just say hi. But I don’t know; we just had a conversation.

Denny Hamlin said.

Fortunately, it seems Denny Hamlin might have succeeded in convincing Carson Hocevar to reign his aggression a bit, as he had a day without any controversies at Gateway last Sunday. The duo was in situation were in the past they messed each other’s race, but last race day everything was positive.

I think he listened. And yeah, I got nothing bad to say, nothing negative to say. I just wanted to put a few things out there. And, you know, I think we’ve raced pretty well together or around each other all year. And my goal was to try to keep it that way.

Carson Hocevar takes a cheeky dig at Denny Hamlin and other NASCAR podcasters

After the clean day he had on the track, the Spire Motorsports driver couldn’t help himself but takes a dig at his critics. He joked how the podcasters have nothing to talk about despite the Gateway race having a record 18 cautions, as he wasn’t involved in a single incident.

I just wanna apologize to all the NASCAR podcast listeners out there. Although there was a record-high number of cautions.

Carson Hocevar wrote on Facebook.

The media has nothing to cover about Hocevar’s aggressive side after weeks of following the story and it’s wild. The youngster joked that he will go back to making controversies next week at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The 77 didn’t cause any, so it’s gonna be a slow news week. Maybe pick up a hobby and resume your podcast listening after we try again at Bristol.

Carson Hocevar added.

The comments from the racer are on point but at the same time the clean race he had proves the No:77 team can secure solid finishes by racing clean and not getting involved in aggressive incident. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the racer in the coming days.
