I want to go be Joey Logano 2.0. I want to make it back to the Cup Series. I want to be able to contend for wins, go contend for championships at the highest level on Sunday, but in the right situation, in the right group, I feel like I can do that.

John Hunter Nemechek said.

The racer believes he belongs among the big names of the sport and is capable of being a regular contender in the elite division. John Hunter Nemechek is determined to make sure Legacy Motor Club regret the decision to let him go by performing on the high level.

I feel like my talent level, I feel like I do belong on Sundays and in the right situation to be able to go out and showcase that and perform. And I will say, with the news that has been brought out of me not being back next year, it puts me in a situation where it’s, okay, I’m ready to go prove that you guys are making the wrong decision.

Yeah, it wasn’t long before the rumors started twirling and the Jordan Bianchi post, that I had found out. It was definitely a shock to me, in a sense. But you know, that’s how this sport goes sometimes. It’s hard.

John Hunter Nemechek said recently.

Later, JHN admitted that he played some role in the exit by not performing on the level that was expected of him. Overall, the team has failed find the speed and balance to thrive in the Cup series. There weren’t enough solid results from them so far in 2026.

It’s been a struggle in a lot of different places. I will say, I don’t really chalk it up to just myself, whether it’s not making the right decision on track, or pit crew having a bad stop at times or race strategy, or car balance. I mean, there are so many different factors that are involved in every single weekend and an infinite amount to have solid runs, to have solid results.

John Hunter Nemechek added.

The comments from the racer are on point and it shows to an extent it was the right decision from LMC to sign Josh Berry. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star driver in the coming years.
