Denny Hamlin slams JGR pit-crew for a “crappy and terrible” day at the pit in Kansas
JGR’s Denny Hamlin was furious with his crew chief over the poor performance of his crew that cost him a win at Kansas.

The NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Round of 12 opener saw Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain playing the spoiler by securing his maiden win of the 2024 season. He was able secure the victory due to the bad luck of Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin, whose race was derailed by multiple mistakes from his crew in the pit-road.
Denny Hamlin secured a P8 finish at the end of the day despite coming out outside the top 15 over poor pit-stops He didn’t hesitate to call out his crew, that had a history making mistake before they made huge progress in the Next-Gen establishing themselves as among the best, reminding them it was one of the worst days ever they have had in the sport.

He doubled down on the criticism later highlighting how because of the crappy day on the pit-road, he didn’t get the finish he deserved and has to settle for just a 11-points advantage going into next race instead of a better one. It was a great missed opportunity for them lock into the Round of 8 in the post-season.
Denny Hamlin claims he should have won the race
The 23XI Racing co-owner while further discussing the topic, pointed out that he should have won the trace if not for the poor re-start positions as they had the fastest car. He just ran out of laps, after getting trapped in the mid-field most of the race slowly making progress.
The Joe Gibbs Racing veteran has missed a great opportunity, but should move on from it, as there are two more critical races left for the next round. It will be interesting to see how the championship battle playout for the veteran racer.
