“They’ve grown up watching Joey Logano!” Kyle Petty slams veterans for WHINING over Carson Hocevar
Ex-NASCAR Cup driver Kyle Petty has some bold comments for the critics of Carson Hocevar after the wild Atlanta race.

The second race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup season was hosted by the Atlanta Motor Speedway and it was a wild as well as entertaining event many expected it to be. Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar was the standout performer of the day, as he used his aggressive racing style to secure a P2 finish while pissing off some veterans.
After the race, he was confronted by the likes of Ross Chastain and Ryan Blaney, while Kyle Busch slammed the youngster on the team radio as well as in his post-race interview. But ex-racer Kyle Petty has come out defending Carson Hocevar, highlighting how the youngster is doing exactly what he grew up watching the likes of Joey Logano do.
These kids, these young drivers have so much freaking talent but they’ve grown up watching Joey Logano do it. They’ve grown up watching Ross Chastain doing. So, they’re taking it to another level. They’re moving that yardstick.

He went onto call out the veteran racers, who are criticizing Carson Hocevar, and explained how everyone hates when a youngster comes in rattling the cage. Kyle Petty event hilariously criticized them for whining about the No:77 Chevy driver.
Anytime you get somebody who shows up at the sharp end of the stick at the front of the pack who’s not used to running up there and who’s not been there, the established names are going to scream. They’re going to cry; they’re going to whine: Oh! There’s somebody else coming up here to get my trophy and get my money. Who is it? It’s Carson Hocevar. What’s he doing up here?

Kevin Harvick urges Carson Hocevar to remain aggressive
2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick via his podcast assessed the Carson Hocevar situation and gave the youngster an advice. He told the Chevy driver don’t cave to the pressure from the surrounding about his aggressive style and stay true to himself in order to succeed.

If he has got shoulders big enough to not back up… Like they’ve done with Chastain when they got on him for being too aggressive. So, you have to be able to balance all that and still be able to have that aggressive nature and make those aggressive moves.

It’s a solid advice given from the veteran, considering Hocevar has been building a brand around himself with his unapologetic style and any changes to that will only be perceived as a weakness. He has to because more clinical on the track to secure more success, while reaming aggressive.
