The NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday at Kansas saw Denny Hamlin’s heart getting broken by Cody Ware’s wreck and his own driver Tyler Reddick’s win. 23XI Racing co-owner Michael Jordan couldn’t ask for something better, as not only his driver won their fifth race of the 2026 season but also gave him the arsenal to trash talk his best friend.

The No:11 team thought they had the race in their hand, where he took the lead from the No:45 car with a handful of laps left, with the latter falling behind with his fuel running out. But Ware’s wreck sends the race to overtime, giving the 23XI car the opportunity to make a comeback. Talking about it, MJ admitted that he is really itching to talk trash to the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran after the results.

Well, I mean, look, I’m racing against Denny, so I really wanted to beat him, because I know we’re going to talk a lot of trash a little bit later.

Michael Jordan told Fox Sports.

Further talking about the point, the former NBA champion pointed out that the credit of Tyler Reddick goes to the whole 23XI Racing garage, led by Denny Hamlin in the competition side. He highlighted how all four of the 23XI car were fast on the day with Bubba Wallace securing P5, Riley Herbst scoring P14 and Corey Heim ending the day at P15.

It was a good race. When we started running out of fuel, I didn’t know what was happening. But 23XI, all the guys drove well today. We finished I think all four cars in the top 15, so that says a lot about the program.

Michael Jordan added.

This kid is on fire. I don’t even know what to say. I don’t even know if I can cool him down. He’s unbelievable. That was an unbelievable last couple laps. I’m proud of him. I’m proud of the whole team.

Michael Jordan asserted.

Furthermore, he admitted that winning races are always fun for him as well as his team, highlighting how much they are cherishing the moments. He is determined to build on the wins they have so far, in order to enable the other 23XI drovers to succeed as well.

When you win it’s always fun. And right now it’s fun for everybody at 23XI, so I mean me being here and being able to see all the wins, I am so happy for the team. I just think we need to continually build on this, without a doubt.

Michael Jordan added.

The 23XI Racing No:45 crew now has momentum on their side yet again after the win and Tyler Reddick has proved that he will be the drover to beat in the remaining races of the regular season. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for them the in the coming days.
