Fox TV, ahead of the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race at COTA, has come up with a big announcement. They have confirmed that they have managed to rope in Haas F1 Team Principal, Guenther Steiner for its TV booth proceeding during the upcoming race at COTA. Interestingly, former F1 World Champions, Kimi Raikkonen and Jenson Button will participate in the race.

While Kimi Raikkonen will participate in his second NASCAR race for the Trackhouse Racing team driving the No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro, the 2009 F1 World Champion, Jenson Button, will be seen doing his trade-in stock car for Rick Ware Racing driving the No.15 Ford Mustang. Two F1 legends will be out on the track doing their thing in COTA, and Guenther Steiner, on the other hand, will be looking after the off-track entertainment in the Fox TV booth.

The booth has developed a new approach this year. They have developed the habit of having different characters alongside Mike Joy and former driver, Clint Bower. Considering the over-the-top entertainment factor that Steiner brings, it is a brilliant move on Fox TV’s part to have the Haas Team Principal on board. He has a huge fanbase, especially in America, and could help drive audiences to their platform during the COTA race.

Guenther Steiner has been the Haas Team Principal since 2016, when the team first made it into F1. With him being in the TV booth for Fox, he would have his eyes set on seeing how the F1 duo of Raikkonen and Button would perform against some of the heavy hitters of NASCAR. The demands of stock car racing are very different from F1.

Moreover, Steiner being from the F1 background, would be able to pinpoint the strength and weaknesses of the two Champion drivers against some of NASCAR’s seasoned campaigners. During their prime years, both Raikkonen and Button were incredibly fast and could score Grand Prix wins for fun. However, NASCAR is completely different.

Considering everything, how do you see the two F1 legends performing at the Circuit of the Americas? Would they be able to hold their ground against the NASCAR pros? Moreover, how would Steiner do in his outing in the Fox TV booth during the event? A lot of question marks, the answer of which will be known during the upcoming event.
