Following an impressive performance put forth by Austin Dillon and the No:3 RCR crew in Daytona, the 2022 regular-season finale, the layoff of the line-up for the season is all set. The playoff line-up has some new faces and the old guards lining up to chase the glory, while some big names missed out on the glory.

The biggest disappointment on the lineup is the absence of JGR veteran Martin Truex Jr. who misses out due to his winless run while all three of his teammates made it to the postseason. Brad Keselowski, Bubba Wallace, and Erick Jones underachieved with the car and the opportunity provided to them to get into the playoff.

The playoff will commence with the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington and the Chevy teams led by HMs driver and regular season champion Chase Elliott to go all the way to the championship four. But HMS driver and defending champion Kyle Larson sees the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers having a smooth ride to make to the playoff more than the chevy teams.

Kyle Larson, in his latest Teleconference ahead of the Darlington race preparation, was asked about whom he thinks are the favorites to win the championship. He acknowledged that there are some favorites to win even after how crazy the season has been. He pointed out that he isn’t even confident about his picks as the season has been an inconsistent one for most on the grid.

I definitely think there are favorites, but there is a lot of craziness that has happened all year long. So even though I have favorites; I’m not confident in anything, just because of how wild and inconsistent the season has been for so many people,” Kyle Larson said.

Kyle Larson went on to add that his Hendrick Motorsports Team and teammate Chase Elliott, along with fellow Chevy driver Ross Chastain are favorites to win along with him. He went on to add that the JGR drivers in the playoff are a big threat as they have some tracks in the playoff that suit their setup really well.

I think you can look at us as being one of the favorites. I think you can look at Chase (Elliott), obviously, and in my opinion, Ross Chastain. I would say us three probably, and definitely the Gibbs guys that are in the playoffs. There are a lot of tracks in the playoffs that I think suit their cars and setups very well,” Kyle Larson added.

He went on to say that he sees one among the JKGR drivers make it to the end and win the whole thing. He explained his choice by pointing out that though there are other teams with a shot at the win, the JGR team has a fast, at the same time, best-handling car to chase the championship.

Honestly, I would probably look at them as probably being the ones that could go out there and win. I think there are other teams that can do a better job of executing, but the Gibbs guys probably have the fastest and best-handling cars to go out there and really win to advance that way,” Kyle Larson explained.
