The veteran’s accomplishments while working for Joe Gibbs Racing have assuredly placed him in the Hall of Fame conversation once he departs.
The exit of Kyle Busch’s long-time sponsor M&M and the Joe Gibbs Racing Management struggling to replace them with a new sponsor that can cover the demands of all three parties involved is the major reason behind the awkward contract situation. The uncertainty also seems to have affected the on-track performance of the veterans, as he appears to be struggling to put forth solid runs in the recent weeks.
The veteran has been bombarded with questions regarding his cup series’ future on the media day for the regular season finale in Daytona, the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar 400. The veteran wasn’t fond of the question that came his way and gave a dramatic, at the same time a funny answer to the questions coming his way.
Find out what Kyle Busch said
Kyle Busch was surrounded by media persons in Daytona enquiring him with questions regarding his contract status, to which he had some dramatic answers as he said, “Hold on. First, I have an announcement to make. Is everybody ready? Ok … there is no announcement. Good? We all good? We clear? Moving on,”.
Kyle Busch went on to say that there is no update on his contract situation as this is not the right place to start airing dirty laundry on the contract situation; he shared his optimism that things will work out when the time comes. He added that he isn’t in the right position to answer the questions regarding his contract.
“What did I just say? I said there was no update. This is not the place to start airing any dirty laundry. Just trust me; in time, things will work out. And what happens, happens. Again, answering that question could either be positive for me or detrimental to me. So, it’s fair to say I cannot answer those sorts of questions,” Kyle Busch added.
