Trackhouse Racing, the team owned by former racer Justin Marks and Pop star Pitbull has been one mong the team to beat in 2022 season so far as the team entering just its second cup season has so far has won three cup races which enabled both of their drivers to cement their playoff spots. With just five more races left in the regular season, the team is hoping to finish on a high note before the postseason starts.

The 22nd round of the NASCAR Cup Series will take place at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and with only 5 rounds of competition remaining in the regular season, the competition for the final cup spot will be fierce. Winless drivers and even those with a single victory will feel the pressure.

Going to Indy both the Camaro ZL1s of No:1 driver Ross Chastain and No:99 driver Daniel Suarez will be hoping to emulate the success they have earned so far this season in the road course to reflect on the track. Two of the three wins of the Trackhouse team came in road course racing with Chastain winning COTA and Suarez making history in Sonoma. The road course racing expertise of the Mexican and the watermelon man’s ever-growing development at the road courses will be an asset to the team.

Daniel Suarez acknowledged that he is proud of his team and everyone in Trackhouse racing for the impressive performance the team has been able to pull through so far this season. He added that they had a winning car last weekend at the Pocono cup race though they were only able to finish third and added that they will only be happy if there have first place sealed for them.

I am proud of my team and everyone at Trackhouse Racing. We have been running very well of late. But we can be better. I thought we had a winning car at the start of Sunday’s race, but we were just a little bit off. Third place is a good finish, but we aren’t going to be happy until we are in the first place,” Daniel Suarez said.

Daniel Suarez talking about the Trackhouse car acknowledged that they are very confident about the road course package they have as they have been able to fight for wins in all such races so far this season. He pointed out that the Indy race is a big enough deal for everyone in the racing scene, a track that might deserve two races once on the oval and the second time on the road course.

Yes, we are very confident. We know we have a good road course package. We have been in contention for the win at every road course this season… I think Indianapolis is a big enough deal for everyone in racing that maybe we should race there twice. (smiling) Once on the oval and once on the road course!” Daniel Suarez added.

Ross Chastain acknowledged that he is looking forward to the Indy Road Course as he has the ability to learn and better his road course racing output over the years. He added that he hopes that the outing will be a great one for Trackhouse Racing, his teammate Daniel Suarez with his road course expertise and his Xfinity outing on the track will produce for him.

I am looking forward to the Indy road course. Several years ago I wasn’t very good at road courses, but now I’ve learned so much about how to drive road courses that I look forward to them. I’ll be running the Xfinity car on Saturday which will be good to get some reps in before the big race on Sunday. My teammate Daniel Suárez is really good at road courses so if all goes well, it should be a good weekend for Trackhouse,” Ross Chastain said.

Ross Chastain went on to speak about his race day preparation joining in about eating a lot of watermelons, alluding to his watermelon farming heritage. He acknowledged that he usually sits in the car for three plus hours, maybe taking snacks in the car, planning the whole 38 race Sundays to sharpen himself for most of the laps in the race.

“I eat a lot of watermelons (laughs). I don’t eat what I used to eat, and I don’t always eat what I want to eat, but it’s to prepare for Sunday. I sit in the car for three plus hours and I want to be as sharp on lap 200 as I am on lap 2. For long, humid races I might take a snack in the car. I plan my life around 38 Sundays a year,” Ross Chastain added.
