Most sportspersons who have made it big in their respective fields started very early in their childhoods. Many drivers in NASCAR have also already gotten their kids into racing, like Kyle Busch’s son, Brexton, and Kevin Harvicks son, Keelan. However, Penske driver Joey Logano believes that it is not right to push children into racing at such a young age.

Logano has a five-year-old son named Hudson Logano. In an interview with SiriusXM, he said that he himself did not start racing until he was seven, so there is no way he would push his son to start at five. He said he wants his son to have fun, even if that means just go-karting.

“…He’ll just go have some fun and if that means we’re going to drive stuff in the backyard and try to avoid trees and go-karts, then that’s what we’ll do. I don’t care,” Logano told SiriusXM.

“Right now, he ain’t going NASCAR racing. If you put him in baseball, he’s not going to Major League. He’s 5, for crying out loud, That stuff bothers me right now when I see people take it too serious at a young age. They don’t know what the heck they’re doing,” he added.

Joey Logano claims there are too many road courses in the NASCAR schedule

Two-time world champion Joey Logano has recently backed Kyle Larson’s claims of there being too many road courses in NASCAR. NASCAR is primarily known for its oval tracks, but road courses have been taking over the competition for the past few years, splitting the NASCAR community into two halves.

Logano noted that the lack of caution during road-course races like Watkins Glen could potentially harm the thrill and enthusiasm of both the drivers and the fans. He claimed that the current number of road courses is too high and that the number of oval races should be increased.

“I think there are too many road courses if you ask me. There’s one thing that I’ve thought, which is there’s not enough cautions in the races like it was at the Watkins Glen. No one’s gonna want to go anymore, we’ll go back to running more oval races like we should,” said Logano.
