Justin Marks is ready to ‘battle’ for Ross Chastain as he revealed he is ‘proud of his aggression’

The inaugural Gateway Cup Race was nothing short of pure entertainment as the intense battle that got produced on and off-track made it one of the most interesting recent race weekends in NASCAR. Team Penske Racing veteran Joey Logano rode his No:22 Ford Mustang to the victory lane toping his former teammate Kyle Busch and securing his second season win, after the Darlington last month, in the process.
But it wasn’t the former teammates’ intense dual against each other that made the major headlines that day as it was all about the overly aggressive driving that was put forth by, another multi-cup race winner of this season, the No:1 Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain. The ‘watermelon man’ was going all out for his win and he went out at veteran Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott during the race day hard.
Both of the drivers were clearly not happy with the over-aggression shown by the driver and though Chastain put forward an apology for his on-track actions Denny Hamlin was quick to warn him about reprocations and suggested that his revenge would be timely and costly for Chastain. Now Trackhouse Racing Co-owner Justin Marks has come forth in support of his driver and warned that the team is ready for any challenges coming their way.

Justin Marks acknowledged that he is proud of Chastain’s aggression and suggested that he probably beat himself up a little too much post-race. He went on to say that though he doesn’t want to see cars wrecking in NASCAR, he sure doesn’t want that to come in between entertaining races where drivers go all out at each other.
“I’m proud of his aggression. I think he probably beat himself up a little bit too much after the race over it. I don’t want to see cars wreck. We certainly don’t want to see that. But I just, I don’t know. I don’t want him to slow down or take any aggression away because it’s exciting for all of us to watch,” Justin Marks told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Justin Marks went on to say that he is ready for any actions that come against his driver and pointed out that he is conversing with fellow team owner and driver Denny Hamlin about it. He pointed out that he knows there are a lot of drama and talks coming out surrounding the drama and controversy revealing that it will be fun to see if the talks are really going to materialize.
“Honestly, I’m here for it. Like, I’m ready. I mean, Denny’s texting me right now as we’re talking actually. And, you know, it’s the drama, the controversy. I guess there’s a lot of talk in this sport, right? There’s a lot of time we spend telling everybody what we’re gonna do, and not a lot of time doing it. So if they want to play, it’ll be fun,” Justin Marks added.
He went on to say that he is a fan of the sport and the stuff his team put out there gives fans the entertainment they crave, something he loves to do. He called out the challenges saying if they want to battle they are ready and are not going to shy away from it. Justin Marks said that in the end, he is not the one who is driving the car so everyone has to wait and see what happens next.
“I’m a huge fan of the sport. I love entertaining fans and doing stuff out there that gets the conversation going. So if we want to battle, let’s battle. I’m not going to shy away from that. But again, at the end of the day, I’m also not driving the car myself. So, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens,” says Justin Marks.
