Live Fast Motorsports has announced that they will field Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 from the 2023 season. The single-car team is owned by co-owner and driver BJ McLeod, and former up drivers Matt Tifft and Joe Folk fielded Ford Mustangs in 2022.

The LFM No:78 crew will receive support from  Richard Childress Racing’s Engine Rebuild Service ECR next season. BJ McLeod, along with four different drivers, will drive the car next year in the cup series and will be hoping to be more competitive with the RCR partnership next year.

The team wants to advance in the cup with the help of the Chevy garage, which has been hugely successful over the decades. BJ McLeod said, “Our team is excited to make this transition to Chevrolet. Chevrolet Camaros have proven great success on the track, and Live Fast Motorsports is looking forward to becoming a part of this advance,”.

Team co-owner Matt Tifft said they are looking forward to racing for the winningest manufacturer in the series. He said,  “We’re looking forward to racing for Chevrolet, the winningest manufacturer in NASCAR. We’ll also be getting engine support from ECR engines, and we know our program will benefit from their technologies and power under the hood,”.

LFM joined the cup series at the same time Trackhouse, and 23X1 Racing joined the series. But the BJ McLeod team’s progress has been slow compared to those two teams. They are already two-car teams fighting for the championship and wins. The resources and budget is the difference maker for the team.

They were part of all 36 races this season, and owner-driver McLeod ran most. He secured two top 20 finishes and one top 10 finish, the team’s best finish ever, from 30 races he drove.  Josh Williams ran three races for the No:78 crew and finished inside the top 25 in two of them. Kyle Tilley ran two races and finished outside the top 25 in both. Andy Lally and Scott Heckert, who ran one race each, were also backtrackers.
