The fourth round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs had all the drama. From JGR teammates Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs colliding in the pit lane to Kyle Larson spinning at Turn One, the race ended with HMS driver William Byron claiming victory. JGR’s Martin Truex Jr. did not have an ideal race as he was heard on the team radio calling out the No: 19 Toyota Camry’s performance.

As the Texas Motor Speedway is known for its high-banked turns and is one of the fastest tracks on the calendar, every driver requires his car to be in top-notch condition for the race. Truex Jr.’s car was not sitting well with him from the start of the race, and to add to his woes, he made contact with Brad Keselowski at the end of the first stage.

Brad Keselowski’s No:6 Ford Mustang made contact with the rear of Truex Jr’s Camry, causing him to spin out. Truex Jr.’s car suffered heavy damage as smoke came out from the vehicle. However, he somehow managed to carry on with the race but finished a low P17. Truex Jr. was later heard ranting on the team radio, asking his team to fix the car. He said, as per Pro Talk, “Fix my f***ing car, please.”

Post-race, Truex Jr. said nothing went right for him in the race. While he earlier believed that he would get a top-ten finish, his incident with Keselowski shattered those hopes as he came out of the collision with flat tires and heavy damage. He also called the team’s pitstops ‘horrendous’.

“Today we didn’t just run good… Once we got spun out we messed up underneath… On top of that our pit-stops were absolutely horrendous… a long terrible day. We need to fix it,” said Truex Jr.
