“Oh, thank god, a nuclear war was prevented,” NASCAR Twitter reacts to Kevin Harvick’s win over Bubba Wallace at Michigan
Kevin Harvick
Bubba Wallace in the No. 23 Toyota Camry turned in one of his greatest performances this past weekend at Michigan International Speedway when he won his first-ever cup series pole and placed second behind veteran Kevin Harvick. Martin Truex Jr.’s chance to advance to the playoffs was lost when the No. 4 Ford Mustang driver won the last restart and finished two seconds ahead of the TRD driver.
Since the beginning of the season, Kevin Harvick has faced criticism for consistently underperforming in 2022 for Stewart Hass Racing though. Despite having fairly consistent performances, Kevin Harvick couldn’t silence his detractors as he finished the 2021 season winless and seemed poised to do the same so far this year, so the win speaks volumes for the efforts put in by the veteran and his crew to get back on track.
Denny Hamlin put in incredible efforts to find his way to a third-place finish ahead of Penske Racing driver Joey Logano, who played an important part in getting Harvick the advantage in the pivotal restart. Ryan Blaney who is the only remaining winless driver this season that is in line for a playoff rank finished P5.
How NASCAR Twitter reacted to Kevin Harvick’s win
Fans were really appreciative of the incredible performance put in by the Ford veteran as he marched his way to the playoffs at the same time there was some genuine appreciation coming the way of P2 finisher Bubba Wallace who is putting forth impressive performances over the last two weekends.
Will Kevin Harvick ride on the winning momentum and earn his second cup series championship this season?
