Spire Motorsports’ Rajah Caruth made history on Friday after winning the 2024 Truck Series Race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He became the first black racer since Bubba Wallace in Michigan in 2017 to win a Truck event. He is only the third driver from the African American community to win a NASCAR race alongside Wallace and Wendell Scott. 

Caruth started the race on the pole and performed impressively to secure the win at the end. He led laps on all three stages and had some impressive battles with Cup champion Kyle Busch, who was his teammate, on multiple occasions. The clean fight between Busch, Caruth, and Ty Majeski, who won the first two stages, was a breath of fresh air considering the last two Truck events were wreckfests. 

After the race, many drivers and crew on the grid joined Rajah to celebrate the historic win, and one of the big guys to come was Trackhouse Racing’s star driver Ross Chastain. He came into the victory lane and embraced Caruth while celebrating the victory. They have a close friendship since they often work out of the same Chevy facility. Even Trackhouse owner Justin Marks took to X to celebrate Caruth’s win.

The victory proves Hendrick Motorsports did the right thing by giving Caruth a development contract and getting him a Spire seat. Their move to give him a full year of HendrickCar.com sponsorship was proven to be spot on after the iRacing star turned real racers’ win at the sin-city.

Fans on social media are impressed by Caruth’s win and were delighted to see Chastain taking the time to celebrate with the Chevy prodigy. They applauded the Trackhouse driver for his move.

Some fans pointed out that Chastain coming to celebrate shows how much he is loved and respected by his peers. Most of them understand the hard work the young racer has put in and massively respect him for that.
