The 20th round of the NASCAR Cup Series, the Ambetter 301, will take place at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. As the competition for the final playoff spots heats up and the front-runners for the championship compete fiercely for the regular season championship, which can put them in the right position going forward in the playoff, the 1.05-mile track known as the “Magic Mille” is predicted to produce one of the most competitive cup races of the season.

Trackhouse Racing, the Justin Marks-Pitbull-owned team, which is just in its second cup season has been the revelation of the 2022 season. The Chevy outfit has already successfully secured a spot in the playoff for both of their drivers Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain with the combined three wins they secured in the No:99 and No:1 Camaro ZL1s respectively.

Ross Chastain without any doubt has been the driver of the season so far as the driver has gone from being in a position to loos his cup series seat to now in contention for the championship with Trackhouse with his two wins coming in COTA and Talledega along with some impressive outings in other tracks. Going into NHMS Chastain will be hoping to get the win and reduce the lead Chase Elliott had over him in the championship table as he sits on P2 behind the HMS man.

Ross Chastain acknowledges that he is more optimistic about the NHMS race as he has worked with his team and himself to do well. He points out that though he hasn’t been able to run well at the track so far or cared about it he wants to perform well at the track. He points out he always had put more effort in New Hampshire track as it’s on the list of places he wants to do really well contrary to his past outings.

“I am more optimistic about it. We’ve worked at and I’ve worked at it myself. Just because I don’t care for it and I haven’t run good there, doesn’t mean that I don’t want to run well there. It’s actually higher on the list than a lot of tracks to run good because I want to turn that around. I don’t want it to always be a track I don’t like. Almost more effort has went into New Hampshire than others just because for me personally because I want to wrap my head around it,” Ross Chastain said.

Ross Chastain went on to discuss his playoff preparations saying that half of his preparations are what he has done before for his truck and Xfinity series playoff outings, where he missed the championship due to a couple of mistakes he did along the way.  He points out that he is ready to experience Trackhouse Racing going together as one with two of their cars to the playoffs and suggested its not affecting their current run in any way.

“Half of my preparation is what I’ve done – I’ve been in the playoffs in Trucks and Xfinity and made mistakes along the way in both of those when I didn’t need to. The other part is being open to experiencing it. Trackhouse is going into the Playoffs with two drivers and two cars who are going to compete as one, but we can’t rest on what we’ve done earlier this year,”  Ross Chastain added.

Ross Chastain went on to say that the playoff is a reset, a moment and experience to live with lots of opportunities up in the 10 races. He points out that the races will provide opportunities to take advantage of in a good way and at the same time will also have some adventure opportunities. He added that it’s all about taking a soft win and being in a secure position for the next race.

It’s a reset, and just experiencing it and living in the moment and realizing that there will be opportunities to mess up in all 10 of those races, there will be opportunities to take advantage of things in a good way, and there will be moments that will be very advantageous that are not worth taking. Take the soft win today and live to fight another day and not take ourselves out,” Ross Chastain explained.
