Ross Chastain is ready to win the ROVAL playoff race

Ross Chastain

Ross Chastain has earned the right to be called a championship contender this season. The No:1 Trackhouse Racing Camaro ZL1 driver is one of the most improved drivers on the cup grid. He has marked his name on the Trackhouse legacy by securing the first two wins of the new chevy team in the cup series.

Chastain will accompany his teammate Daniel Suarez this weekend at the Charlotte Road Course race.  This will be the last race of the Round of 12. Ross Chastain is positioned above the cutline going into the race. A win there can do a world of good for his championship four chances.

Trackhouse Racing has been the most impressive team on the road courses this season so far, as two of their three wins this season came at such tracks. A ROVAL win is there for the taking of both of the drivers. Chastain’s aggressive racing approach gives him an edge over his teammate.

Ross Chastain said he feels ready to win at ROVAL. He is been training hard for it on the sim. Chastain pointed out that he focuses more on road courses than other types of tracks. He wants to improve his overall lap times in the road course races.

I feel ready to win. I’m ready to jump back in the Chevy simulator and brush up on a few things. That’s been the road course that I’ve been focused on the most. I’ve focused a lot on road courses in my career, but I haven’t shown the speed at that course like I have at other ones. So, I’m looking for that next step there in speed for overall raw lap times,” Ross Chastain said.

Ross Chastain said that the team has to be watchful about the car and everything that happens in the race. He pointed out that he doesn’t want to put themselves in a position to fall out of the race. Chastain added that he plans to run fast alps at the track on race day.

We’ll just have to be mindful of what is around our No. 1 Chevy. We need to know at all times what is going on. We’ll be aware of the points and not put ourselves in the position to fall out of the race. Aside from that, we’ll just go and try and make fast laps,” Ross Chastain added.
