Joey Logano wins at Vegas

Joey Logano will fight for the 2022 cup championship at season finale in Phoenix. He has earned the spot by winning the round of 8 opener at Las Vegas. The Penske veteran outraced Trackhouse racing driver Ross Chastain with help of some clever pit-strategy from his crew chief.

Logono, though had one of the fastest cars of the day was struggling to get up front from his lower top 10 spot. With just 25 laps left in the race NASCAR called caution which gave the No:22 crew a chance to have a two-tire pit-stop.

Joey Logano restarted the race at p12 and then marched upfront with the help of his fresh tires. He was able close down Ross Chastain with 6 laps left in the race. Chastain put in an incredible defence against the veteran for a whole three laps. Logano was able to overtake ethe latter and hold on to the lead to win the race.

Kyle Busch, who was born in Las Vegas finished the race in P3. This is his second consecutive p3 finish. Chase Briscoe finished P4 ahead of Denny Hamlin. Christopher Bell was the lowest finishing playoff contender as he got caught up in the Kyle Larson-Bubba Wallace wreck.

How NASCAR twitter reacted to joey Logano’s win

Fans on Twitter were quick to share their surprise at the fact the last laps were pretty clean racing from two drivers, Logano and Chastain, who are known for there aggressive racing style. Some were happy about the clean racing, while others weren’t. Some fans also claimed that it was Blaney who spun out earlier, who deserved to win and not Logano.
