From the start of the 2024 season, one of the big topics of discussion has been the new charter dela from 2025 to 2031. After a lot of back and forth during the negotiations, NASCAR gave the teams a take it or leave it charter deal ahead of the first playoff race. Evry team other than 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports signed the new deal, believing they won’t get a better one.

But Michael Jordan’s 23XI and Bob Jenkins’ FRM believed NASCAR didn’t give them a fair chance to negotiate and they deserve a better one. Trackhouse Racing was one of the team that could have made similar move, but they didn’t and decided to sign. But that doesn’t mean they oppose the 23XI and FRM, on the contrary the respect the teams for it.

The co-owner Trackhouse, Justin Marks, in his recent appearance in Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour podcast revealed that he admires the conviction and willingness of the duo. He doesn’t know what the thought process of the teams are. They are currently focused on the current season and beyond.

As far as the other two I mean, I certainly admire their conviction; I certainly admire their willingness to stand up for what they’re fighting for. What they believe in, I don’t know where it goes; I don’t know what comes out of it because we wake up and we’re gonna prepare cars for the Daytona 500. So, we’ll see how that goes.

Justin Marks asserts NASCAR is currently in a great spot

Though NASCAR isn’t close to the glory days it once enjoyed in the entertainment martlet, it is still one of the biggest racing series in the world. Marks while talking about the same pointed out that he believes that the sport is currently is a good spot and is performing well in the market despite competition from the likes of F1.

There are some elements that leave things to be desired for sure. NASCARs got a lot of power, a lot of influence, and they definitely have come out way in things, but I still feel like the sport is in about a good spot now as it’s probably ever been certainly in my lifetime, and with so much competition in the landscape for consumers and viewership, I think NASCAR is performing really well.

The comments from Marks and the fact that Trackhouse has signed the new deal shows they are confident about their future and are hopeful about growing much more in the current environment. It will be interesting to see if these expectations come to fruition.
