Kyle Busch, the Richard Childress Racing driver, is a big name in the world of NASCAR Cup Series racing. He has been competing in the category for several years and has amassed quite a few accolades. Moreover, Busch has not kept himself bound to the Cup Series only, as he also competes on a part-time basis in the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series races.
While Kyle Busch has every now and then proved his mettle behind the wheel of racing cars, he has dived deep into the racing world and is the co-owner of the Kyle Busch Motorsports(KBM) stock car racing team, which competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. As far as the initial beginnings of the team go, it was founded after Busch purchased the remaining assets of Xpress Motorsports in 2009 and then went on to purchase trucks from Rouse Fenway Racing.
Moreover, when it came to Kyle Busch Motorsports’ debut season, it decided to field three trucks which were seen as very ambitious by many people related to the sport. Busch and Ickler decided to split the driver duties on the team’s primary truck (No.18), whereas the second and third trucks were entrusted to Malsam and the 2008 truck series Champion, Jonny Benson.
Things were looking very promising for KBM up to a certain point, but the team faced setbacks after setbacks that somewhat derailed their plans. Because of a plethora of reasons, KBM had to operate out of the former Xpress shop for most of its debut season. In order to drastically change the state of KBM, Kyle Busch decided to make a bold move and opened the team’s new race facility for 10 million dollars in Mooresville, North Carolina, on April 14, 2010, and has been based there since.

When it came to the 2011 truck series season, Kyle Busch was again able to score 6 victories, and the No.18 truck finished second in the overall standings to Kevin Harvick Incorporated No. 2 truck. After the 2011 season, Busch was not seen behind the wheel of the No.18 truck, and it was only in 2015 that he decided to run for his own team again. He has also driven the No:51, 54, and 4 Trucks.
That year, he drove in four races and was able to win two of them. After several years of running for his team, Kyle Busch was able to score a total of 46 race wins for Kyle Busch Motorsports. This is quite impressive, as managing a race team and running races for it at the same time is not everyone’s cup of tea. He is the all-time winner of the third-tier NASCAR series with 61 wins. KBM was part of the TRD garage when it started and remained so till 2023 after Busch moved from Joe Gibbs Racing. to RCR, which is a Chevy team. They now field Chevy Trucks.
