It was not easy scoring when the big man is guarding the rim. However, there are players who have had their moments with him. No one can ever match a rivalry that Michael Jordan and Dikembe Mutombo had. During the 90s season, this was the most heated rivalry that entertained the fans more often. The legendary shot blocker Dikembe Mutombo was one of the best in his time. He averaged 4 blocks per game from 1993 to 1996. This puts modern day defenders on their toes. These staggering numbers are huge when compared to today’s generation. He was a huge menace inside the paint. In 2007, Dikembe Mutombo surpassed Kareem Abdul Jabbar for the most blocks after Hakeem Olajuwon. But Mutombo shared an iconic moment with Jordan.

“He never dunked on you? Ever?” asked Ewing.
“He said I would love to get my poster, but it is not happening. Ballboy call Scottie man,” said Mutombo. The Chicago Bulls hosted Atlanta Hawks when Michael Jordan put up a poster on the big man. Charging down the base line Jordan dunked over Mutombo and later shook his finger indicating ‘you can’t stop me’.
