Kyrie Irving and Jo Cole is the perfect basketball and artist combination at this point in time with Cole being a constant visitor at most of the major basketball games and Irving doing what he does best, dominating, whenever he needs to, as the player now goes all out in his praise for J Cole, who according to the former, “inspires him”. The Brooklyn Nets’ star despite being in controversy has stood for what he believes in, and that is definitely the kind of rap J Cole sings, which is a process of storytelling, therefore, highlighting the reason of Irving’s liking of Cole.
Kyrie Irving, even if you agree or you don’t, is one of the best players to ever grace the court of basketball, and being the master of his art that he is, Irving recognizes the master of rap, and therefore, respects him from the bottom of his heart. Irving recently put out a tweet which symbolized the way he feels, and the tweet was a part of a lyric from J Cole’s song. Cole who is known for his art of storytelling through his rap is known for the motivational music that he puts out, music that is different, music that is inspiring, and that is exactly what Irving likes and takes motivation from.
Irving is someone who has chosen a different path and has done things that he has wanted to despite what other people feel, think and say, and that is something that has made him pay a very heavy price, but it seems like the player is too “in zone” to care about anything. Irving being the outspoken person that he is, he has gone against the entire league and media in order to stand with things that he says, and all of his followers that support him.

Kyrie Irving recently put out a tweet which contained lyrics from J Cole’s song, kind of signaling towards the fact that the player has a liking towards the Hip-hop sensation, and that is something that he has always done. Even when Cole performed in the events hosted by the NBA, the All-Star events being one of them, Irving showered the artist with praises for his art and how far he has reached with it.
Recently in an interview with the media, Irving stated that Cole is the person he takes inspiration from and that he is Irving’s hero, stating, “he is a hero of mine”. Irving also went on to say that J Cole has been a staple in the Hip-Hop world since a really long time and the only reason he has been there for such a long time is because he has consistently created good music, and music that inspires people, Irving being one of them. Irving stated, “He’s been a staple in the culture for a long time now since a little bit before the 2010s. I’ve always taken inspiration and motivation from other artists.”
