I am coming straight at you: Ja Morant

After the game, Ja Morant was asked about taking on the big men in the Cavs team. Morant quoted – “I don’t fear nobody, dawg. I don’t care if you 7’7″ or whatever. I’m coming straight at you…My mindset didn’t change, I got a good floater game and I started to use it early.” Morant’s words can be taken at face value as he is known for his high-flying skills and slam dunks and show no fear while taking the leaps.

It was a close game and Ja Morant came up clutch in the final moments of the game. Morant scored six of his 26 points in the final 30 seconds of the game and a total of 10 points in the clutch. Morant was on a franchise-record four-game streak of 30+ points which came to an end today.

Morant has improved his game a lot this season including his three-point shot. He is shooting 40% from the three-point range this season, an improvement of seven percentage points season-over-season. Morant also has 63 points this season in the clutch, 5th most in the league and most by a Grizzly. The Grizzlies have won nine out of their 13 clutch games this season. With this, Morant has already made a strong case for himself for this year’s NBA All-Star game.
