Isiah Thomas chooses LeBron James as the G.O.A.T; Undermined arch-rival Michael Jordan yet again

It is not a surprise for any basketball fanatic that Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan were the ideal rival back in the day. In addition, when the former was in conversation with another former player, Kendrick Perkins, he decided to side-way with him and agree upon LeBron James being the G.O.A.T over Michael Jordan. Ahead of the the start of the 75th edition of the league, Perkins listed his 75 top players with King James being at the top, unsurprisingly. 

LeBron James and Michael Jordan have long been in the G.O.A.T contention. However, during a recent episode of the No Pump Fakes Podcast, Kendrick Perkins would give his take on the all-time top 75 players in light of the league’s seventy-fifth anniversary. The former champion raised a few eyebrows by ranking LeBron James at the no. 1 position over the iconic Chicago Bulls player. 

Isiah Thomas opts for LeBron James as the G.O.A.T over arch-rival Michael Jordan 

The Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan rivalry is no secret to any NBA and hoop fan. The uo doesn’t share a cordial relationship and time and against the Piston’s legend has made his claim to be better than Jordan on multiple levels. To those hwo are not aware, the former was an integral part of the Bad Boys era. The Detroit Pistons’ Jordan Rules game-plan was one of the most controversial strategies in the NBA, consisting of physically torturing MJ every time he tried to enter the paint.

The most infamous controversy being the handshake one, when the Chicago Bulls swept the Detroit Pistons. The team led by Zeke would storm off the court without congratulating the winning team (MJ led Bulls) on their first NBA Finals berth. Thus was the last nail in the coffin, post which MJ had formed a lifelong hatred for Thomas. 

Michael Jordan would exercise his power when he would not let Isiah Thomas be part of the dream team in the 1992 Olympics. Having said that, it is been more than two decades, and the two Hall of Famers continue to despise each other. Hence, when Kendrick Perkins stated LeBron James as his GOAT, Isiah Thomas couldn’t help but agree with him.
