It appears that as one trade drama has ended in the NBA, anther has begun. Trouble is brewing in the Eastern Conference as once again, a team has to deal with an unhappy superstar and a player that wants out of the organization. While this situation may sound familiar to fans, it is the Philadelphia 76ers that find themselves in this predicament.

The 76ers are faced with two problems. One, Joel Embiid is unhappy with the way the tides are turning in Philly. Two, James Harden clearly wants out. It appears that he 76ers management might have found a solution to to solve both problems. The solution is named Jrue Holiday. Holiday, who was recently released from the Milwaukee Bucks, is now a more viable trade option. The 76ers could trade Harden for holiday, swapping one guard for the other. This move would plug in some gaps on the defensive end and Holiday, who was teamed with Giannis Antetokounmpo is familiar with how to deal with a big.

The 76ers have openly expressed interest. An NBA insider has said, “Philadelphia has interest in him, and Philadelphia is going to be going hard at him. So, James Harden would have to be a part of a transaction like that.”

If Holiday were to go the 76ers it could pacify Embiid. The 76ers would gain a versatile defender and a championship veteran. Whether or not the 76ers choose to go through with the trade however is something that only time will tell.

Why does James Harden want out of Philly?

All this trade dram might not be happening in the first place if Harden was happy in Philadelphia. So this begs the question, what happened to him that makes him want to move out so quickly?

While the 76ers have released nothing that hints about the cause for Harden’s displeasure, something Harden said might provide a hint. Harden stated that he would never player for 76ers GM Daryl Morey ever again. He called him a liar on several occasions.

He added on that he never wanted to be in an organization that Morey was part of ever again. The time for Harden in Philly is clearly coming to an end. His exit from the team will bring on a whole new wave of drama. When that does happen, Harden’s destination will finally become clear.
